This status is confirmed by our own numbers, which show not only record volumes, but also a clear shift in how Danes choose to pay for their online shopping. As your payment solution partner, we provide the latest update from Black Week 2025 based on transactions through our platform, highlighting the crucial trends defining today's webshop success.
Status: MobilePay and International Cards Dominate
Our transaction data from the first five days of Black Week (November 24 to 28, 2025) paints a clear picture of accelerating internationalisation in payment patterns and a growing preference for mobile solutions.
pensopay's Key Figures From Payment Distribution
We have analysed the card and mobile distribution in your webshop during Black Week and observed the following clear trends:
1. MobilePay grows explosively: MobilePay grew significantly from a normal level of around 67% to between 70% and 76% across the week's trading days. This underlines that when things move fast in e-commerce, consumers choose the fastest path through checkout.
2. Visa is the winner: The Visa card (including Visa/Dankort) accounted for the largest share, with an average level of over 57% of all card payments during the period. The share peaked on Thursday, November 27, at 60% (59.74%).
3. Mastercard gains ground: Mastercard showed the most significant growth, rising from 25% (24.64%) at the start of the week to 28% (28.29%) on Black Friday. This growth testifies to a shift towards purely international card types, which are essential for cross-border online trade.
4. Dankortet loses ground: During the same period, Dankort's share fell from 18% (17.56%) to 14% (14.40%). This reflects the general movement towards more flexible payment methods.
Our conclusion: Your webshop needs to be optimised for international cards and mobile payment methods. This ensures the highest conversion rate, especially during the most hectic sales periods.
