The entrepreneurs behind Polax are Oliver Pausgaard and Victor Enemark. Polax offers ice baths that help you recover faster and reduce stress. We spoke with Oliver Pausgaard from Polax to hear about the journey the two young men have embarked on with their venture.
From Dream to Reality: The Two Young Entrepreneurs Behind Polax
Oliver and Victor met while studying Marketing Management. They had a strong desire to start a project together but were unsure what it should be. During their study sessions, they frequently exchanged ideas and brainstormed various possibilities. One day, Victor suggested they sell ice baths.
Victor had noticed that ice baths were becoming popular in other countries, which inspired him. At the same time, he observed the growing trend of winter bathing in Denmark. Oliver was immediately on board with the idea.
"We’ve both tried winter bathing and experienced the benefits – it’s incredibly addictive," Oliver Pausgaard, Polax.
The idea for ice baths began to take shape in 2022. Oliver and Victor started exploring their options, ordering prototypes from different manufacturers. They tested the products' quality, including stitching and insulation, to ensure they met their standards. By February 2023, they began selling the product under the name "Polax."
Oliver and Victor offer ice baths as an alternative to ocean bathing. "The ice baths are for those who don’t have time to get to the sea several times a week but still want to enjoy winter bathing," Oliver Pausgaard, Polax.
Oliver also emphasizes that Polax is about more than just winter bathing. It’s about promoting a healthy lifestyle, focusing on both the body and mind.

Cold Therapy – Warm Results: The Health Benefits
Numerous studies show that cold water immersion can help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as improve blood circulation.
"You immerse your body in cold water – ideally at 15 degrees Celsius or lower, aiming for a total of 11 minutes per week spread over several days," Oliver Pausgaard, Polax. Currently, Polax offers three different ice baths: Ice Bath Original, Ice Bath Deluxe, and Ice Bath Pro.
The great thing about Polax’s ice baths is that they’re not only high-quality but also portable. "They’re easy to take to the summer house, on vacation, or to family gatherings. Each ice bath comes with a convenient carry bag, making it easy to transport," Oliver Pausgaard, Polax.
Expanding the Universe: Polax’s Future in Therapeutic Solutions

Oliver highlights the importance of having a solid support network when starting a business. "You need to have passion and people around you who can see the value in what you're doing," Oliver Pausgaard, Polax.
"On days when sales dip, it's crucial to stay passionate and have people in your corner who can provide the energy you need to keep pushing forward," Oliver Pausgaard, Polax.
