Interview: PanzerGlass.

In a world where smartphones are indispensable, PanzerGlass has become the unsung hero, protecting our most valuable gadgets like an invisible airbag. PanzerGlass was founded in 2013 by Jimmy Olsen, who, during business trips, discovered a gap in the screen protection market in Denmark

We spoke with Erik Stengaard-Pedersen, VP at PanzerGlass, about their focus on quality, sustainability, and how pensopay has helped them with a seamless payment solution. Read on to gain insight into their exciting journey

A Company with Focus

From the very beginning, PanzerGlass has maintained a sharp focus on creating and delivering high-quality products. Founder Jimmy Olsen initially showcased the product at trade fairs, where he found himself among the few able to present such a solution. He quickly received his first orders, realizing the high demand. Today, over eight years later, PanzerGlass has expanded its product range, continuously improving quality.

Among their innovations is privacy glass, which ensures that others cannot see what's on your screen. PanzerGlass also collaborates with various car dealers, including sports car manufacturers and BMW, using their products to protect touch screens. They provide premium products for high-end brands.

The Screen's Airbag

Since PanzerGlass was founded in 2013, the concept has remained the same. The company is built on three core principles: the product must be of high quality, have a noticeable impact, and be nearly invisible.

According to Erik, PanzerGlass is the "airbag" for screens. It’s a protective glass layer constructed from multiple layers, making it shock-absorbent and extra durable. Additionally, they’ve incorporated an antibacterial feature in the top layer, ensuring that 99% of bacteria cannot survive on the surface.

Riding the Green Wave

Like many other companies, PanzerGlass has made greener choices wherever possible. They maintain a strong focus on sustainability, without becoming fanatical about it. One of their efforts includes making all packaging more eco-friendly. Anything that can be produced from cardboard or paper is, and the packaging is designed as compactly as possible to avoid resource waste. Additionally, they've reduced water waste in the glass production manufacturing process, now cutting the glass more efficiently to minimize resource waste.

Great Partnership – A Trusted Partner

Before PanzerGlass became a pensopay customer, they were using another payment solution that didn’t meet their basic requirements due to frequent technical issues. To find a better option, they reached out to their network for recommendations. Several pointed them towards pensopay, leading them to get in touch with us.

When we asked Erik if he was satisfied with his decision, he answered without hesitation: "Yes, absolutely!" He led that communication with us, both in writing and over the phone, has been excellent. He described our solution as:

  • Easy to integrate
  • Offering strong payment options across various markets
  • Running smoothly with minimal daily management.

We even asked him to check with his colleagues, and his response was:

We must admit, that makes us both happy and proud.

Considerations You Should Make

According to Erik, there are a few general considerations you should keep in mind when choosing a payment solution:

  • Does it support the relevant payment methods in the countries you operate in?
  • Can it run with minimal daily management, meaning it operates automatically?
  • Is it easy and simple to implement?
  • Are you getting a product at a fair and relevant price?

Additionally, he recommends that entrepreneurs leverage their network—not only to explore different market options but also to reach more people. He also advises using established and tested products, so you don’t end up dealing with an underdeveloped system yourself.
